It is spread through female AEDES mosquitoes. These mosquitoes bite during the day and single bite is enough to spread the infection. It is mostly found in people as compare to other vertebrates.
A female mosquito that takes a blood meal from a person who is suffering from DENGUE FEVER becomes infected itself. The DENGUE VIRUS spreads to other tissues including the mosquito’s salivary glands from gut lining cells in about one week. The virus is released in the saliva of mosquito from salivary glands. When a mosquito injects its saliva through bite DENGUE VIRUS automatically enters into the blood stream of the person. The DENGUE VIRUS actually has no effect on mosquito but mosquito remains infected throughout life. Female mosquito lays eggs on artificial or clear water.
For the treatment of mild or moderate gives juices and intravenous fluids and blood transfusion are suggested in severe cases.
