Any honest observer
regarding the current political situation can justify that the principal
opposition alliance led by the BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) within their
political ally Jamat-e Islami have resorted for the indiscriminating violence
which is under the pretext of boycotting the recent elections that was
scheduled on 05 January 2014. The
Hon’ble Prime Minister (Sheikh Hasina) offered a dialogue to reach a basic
understanding for the election-time Government. When an opposition political
party does not participate in election, then the election cannot make sure the
right of people to be free, impartial or fair election on the basis of the
constitutional provisions.
A Government consisting of
elected representatives along with the mandate for ensuring security and
well-being of the people. BNP fails to start an effective popular movement for
not to support the election-time government and it turns into arson attacks on
innocent civilians, public properties and state institutions. There are several
media footage, documentary evidences that they came out on the street with
spears, machetes, patrol bombs, knives and other weapons. The acting Secretary
General of the BNP quoted that only one or two vehicles are lost but should
more violent.
When BNP-Jamaat propaganda
becomes colorless, then “Hefazat-e-Islam” arises. This is self serving and to
justify for anti-state activities. The BNP-Jamaat alliance challenges the
secular, democratic, inclusive spirit and liberal on the basis of
Hefazat-e-Islam. With the opposition alliance, with proven association, some
human rights advocates are supporting Hefazat-e-Islam to protect the
anti-Islamic work flow and pro-women policies.
The Election Commission
has the full authority by the constitution regarding any decision of election.
The advance election monitoring team of EU was in full satisfaction about the
responsibilities of Election Commission. The CTG (Caretaker Government) was
introduced in 1996 but now it is dismissed based on constitutional provisions.
Institutionalization of
democracy and at the critical moment in Bangladesh, you will believe that
democratic polity of Bangladesh is in the stage of maturity. Here the Election
Commission is empowered and independent. With the City Corporation and local
government elections, the election of Bangladesh in 2014 is proven in which
most of the Opposition gained and accepted the results as fair and free.
Regarding the rationales
and motivations of the development of Bangladesh, it is expected through
international community to be sensitized of the involvement of different
parties. When the political situation of Bangladesh is blowing through a
volatile and rough phase, at that moment the same context appears in many other
contemporary countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Bangladesh has
overcome the man-made calamities. We have the confident that the current
political crisis will be merged by the general people of Bangladesh.
The “right to food and
franchise” is the main securing purpose of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and
she dedicates her whole political career. Her government wishes to see the
Bangladesh as democratic, progressive, secular, socially along with
knowledge-driven by 2021 and desires the Bangladesh as global leadership in
peace, development and women’s empowerment. The current political situation in
Bangladesh is stable and by 2021 it will turn into Golden Bangladesh.
